ADVICE NEEDED! OIL LEAK?, turbo covered in oil, pics below. Help needed
Last Poster: Saaim124 in Mk5 General Area on Today at 01:28:21 pm
Hi everyone I’ve got a mk5 gti 07 plate and I’ve noticed I’ve got an oil leak as there’s little puddles under my car. I’ve narrowed the leak down to someone where near the turbo not sure if it’s the actual turbo leaking or something else. Ive added some pics below and any help would be nice. Pretty sure it’s not the cover gasket that’s leaking.

Yes the exhaust tips are def a lot cleaner after a week, as mine too used to get very sooted up.
Fuel economy has def increased, but unsure how much exactly in the last coupe of weeks.
What I have noticed is that I usually have about a 1/4 of a tank of fuel at the end of a week consistently (stick £30 in and it bumps it to about 3/4 full, but last weekend noti

Hey, at least you have a lead now. Replacing the windshield wipers on these cars is a pain but if you wanna see real pain, try doing it on an Audi A4 B7. You either remove the ecu and it'#039s case or you have a friend bend it and pray to god it doesnt break since it'#039s a 20 year old plastic. You need to wiggle that sh*t around for at least 30 minutes to take it out but funny enough,

Funny thing, forgot to mention. After turning the car off and letting it sit, I can hear droplets noise coming from the fuel tank, as if fuel would be trickling back. Mostly notable after medium to hard driving. My money is on the pump being the culprit cause I'#039ve heard it having issues. Been meaning to replace it since half a year ago but always found something more "quotimportant"quot

Whose map is it? For 260-280bhp it should have a stage 2 map that usually codes out the lambda light. A vcds scan should tell you the issue. Also be aware that the car will fail a MOT if it has a decat.

Could be the subframe bolts are bent\loose causing a shift
I had the same issue, I replaced the two upper engine mounts (lemforder) plus the new revised dog bone mount (VW) and powerflex inserts in the top 2 and 034motorsport inserts (upper and lower inserts) in the lower mount.
It made a bit of difference but nothing amazing. I then had fitted the 034motorspo

Getting to that time in the service schedule...
What is the current going rate people are paying for the DSG service?
Any recommendations for specialists in the East Berkshire/West London area?
